A private 5G network for your site, live in days.
Your own spectrum, your own core and no connection to the public internet. We survey the site, install the base stations, connect your devices on Simsonic SIMs and run the network for you. No trenching and no waiting months for fibre.
A mobile network that belongs to you.
Private 5G works like the mobile networks you already use, except nobody else is on it. Only your devices can connect, your traffic stays on site and you decide what gets priority when things are busy.
It is also fixed wireless access: the same network can bring gigabit broadband to a building, a yard or a remote site without laying a cable.
- Radio
- 4G and 5G base stations and small cells on your site, planned from a survey so coverage reaches every corner that matters.
- Core
- A private core, on site or hosted, that nobody else uses. Your traffic is routed and prioritised there, never over the public internet.
- Spectrum
- Licensed, shared or unlicensed, depending on the country and the site. We handle the licences.
- Devices
- Phones, laptops, sensors, cameras and machines join with Simsonic SIMs or eSIMs and are authenticated before they get on the network.
- Management
- Monitored, updated over the air and supported for the life of the network, with a RAN controller keeping critical traffic first in line.
How it compares.
Wi-Fi, public 5G and fibre each do a job. Private 5G is for sites where you need all of speed, control and coverage at once.
| Private 5G FWA | Wi-Fi | Public 5G | Fibre | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bandwidth | Dedicated to you | Shared, slows as users join | Shared with the public | Dedicated |
| Who can connect | Only devices with your SIMs | Anyone with the password or certificate | Any subscriber | Whatever is plugged in |
| Traffic path | Stays inside your private APN | Out over your broadband | Over the operator’s network | Out over your broadband |
| Time to go live | Days, no trenching | Days, many access points | Immediate, where there is coverage | Weeks to months of civil works |
| Large and outdoor sites | Designed for it | Range and interference limits | Depends on local coverage | Only where cables run |
| Devices on the move | Seamless across the site | Drops between access points | Yes | No |
General comparison. Actual performance depends on the site, the spectrum and the design.
Who it is for.
For operations that have outgrown Wi-Fi and cannot wait months for fibre.
Speed and latency
Up to 1 Gbps with sub-1 ms latency on 5G mmWave: enough for machine control, automation and high-resolution video, all at once.
Data kept private
SIM authentication, private APNs and end-to-end encryption. Production data, camera feeds and payments never cross the public internet.
Cost
No trenching or cabling. Base stations and customer premises equipment go in within days and cost less than running fibre across a large site.
Coverage
Sub-6 GHz and mmWave with beamforming reach warehouses, yards, remote buildings and busy areas that Wi-Fi struggles with.
For providers that want to sell fixed wireless where fibre is slow, expensive or not coming.
New markets
Offer 5G FWA as primary or backup broadband and reach new urban and rural customers without building out fibre.
Faster connections
Skip last-mile trenching and connect a new customer in days, whether it is a rural premises or a gap in city coverage.
Automatic failover
Sell FWA as a backup to fibre that takes over automatically when the line fails, and keep customers who would otherwise leave.
Spectrum per customer
Use mmWave where a customer needs capacity and sub-6 GHz where they need reach, and balance the two across your base.
Where it is used.
Manufacturing
Robots, automated guided vehicles and quality-control cameras on one low-latency network.
Logistics and ports
Handhelds, vehicles and yard trackers connected across the whole site, indoors and out.
Fleet depots
Vehicles sync and update the moment they return, then stay connected on Simsonic SIMs once they leave.
Smart city
CCTV, sensors and public services on a network the city controls.
EV charging
Charge points that stay online without a fixed line to every bay.
Retail
Payments and stock systems that keep working when the broadband goes down.
Healthcare
Staff devices and monitoring equipment kept off the public internet.
Events and temporary sites
A dedicated network that goes up in days and comes down when you are finished.
Remote and maritime
Connectivity for places fibre will never reach.
How a rollout works.
One team from the first site visit to the day it goes live, and for as long as the network runs after that.
- 01
Survey
A conversation about what you need, then a site survey of everything that affects coverage and performance.
- 02
Licences
We choose the spectrum and handle the licensing, so the network is compliant from day one.
- 03
Costs
Infrastructure, licences and running costs set out side by side, against what you spend today.
- 04
Design
A network designed for your site: cells, on-site equipment, core and backhaul.
- 05
Build and run
We install, test and hand over, then monitor and manage the network for as long as you run it.
When devices leave the site.
Vehicles, handhelds and anything else that goes off site keep working on Simsonic SIMs and eSIMs across public networks. On-site and off-site devices sit in the same Simsonic console, on the same bill, and new ones are provisioned through the same API.
// create an eSIM for a device that leaves site POST /esims { "sku": "iot-5gb" } // response 201 Created
Questions.
Anything else, ask the team.
How is private 5G FWA different from public 5G?
It runs on a dedicated network, separate from public 5G, with its own spectrum, private APNs and enterprise-grade encryption. That means no congestion from other users, stronger security and full control over performance and coverage.
What speeds and latency can I expect?
Up to 1 Gbps with sub-1 ms latency on 5G mmWave, which suits real-time automation, IoT and analytics. Real-world performance depends on the spectrum chosen, the network design and the environment.
Do I need new infrastructure?
No major overhaul. There is no fibre trenching: the network uses base stations, small cells and customer premises equipment, which makes it faster and cheaper to deploy than fibre.
Can it back up a fibre line?
Yes. Fixed wireless makes a reliable failover for fibre, with automatic switching so operations stay online when the line goes down.
Is it more secure than Wi-Fi?
Devices authenticate by SIM rather than a shared password, traffic is encrypted and stays on isolated infrastructure, so the risk of outside interference or unauthorised access is much lower than on Wi-Fi or shared networks.
What spectrum does it use?
Licensed, unlicensed or shared spectrum, depending on local regulation and what you need. mmWave delivers the highest speeds, while mid-band and low-band spectrum cover more ground.
Does it work in rural or remote locations?
Yes. It brings high-speed connectivity to rural sites, temporary locations and hard-to-reach areas far faster than fibre, from warehouses to construction sites and industrial plants.
What happens to devices that leave the site?
Pair the private network with Simsonic SIMs and eSIMs. Anything that leaves site, from vehicles to handhelds, stays connected across public networks and is managed from the same Simsonic console.
What does setting one up involve?
We scope your needs, choose the spectrum, install base stations and on-site equipment and integrate with your IT systems. Consultation, design and ongoing management are all included.
